School dropouts often become child labour. It is more so in the age group of 9-15
A special mode of teaching was required to motivate them to rejoin school as many were already earning through small jobs.
Parents also needed motivation to put their kids back in school.

Gram sabhas were conducted and out-of-school children were identified.
Parents were motivated and child labor and school dropouts were put through a special 3 month training.
They were then mainstreamed to regular schools.
Academic support provided by Janashala/ SSA
Support for food and toiletries provided by Tribal Welfare Dept.

9 camps are functioning successfully and 2423 students have been mainstreamed.
Follow up strategies are being implemented to identify and solve problems if any.
OSC free habitations have gone up to 464

Functioning of RBCs for Out of School Children
Priority to be given for the 10 high OSC Mandals in establishing Residential Bridge Camps ie., Katrenikona, Tallarevu, U. Kothapalli, Thondangi, Tuni, Jaggampeta, Prathipadu, Gandepalli, Sankavaram, Gollaprolu, Pitapuram.
Katrenikona, Tallarevu, U. Kothapalli, Thondangi are fishermen area and other mandals are upland area.
Five Gram Panchayats around every RBC have to be declared "child Labour Free" with in 3 months of opening of RBC Camp. Proceedings have been issued to MEOs.
Conducted Community mobilizations camps to identify child labour in the following Mandals.
1. Byravapalem , I.polavaram Mandal
2. Pallam, Katrenikona Mandal
3. Seetarampuram, Thondangi Mandal
4. Rajapudi, Jaggampeta Mandal
5. Kakinada (U) and Rajahmundry (U)
6. Konapapapeta, U.Kothapalli Mandal
7. Gurthedu, Y.Ramavaram Mandal
8. Kota, Y.Ramavaram Mandal Upper area.
9. S. Pydipala, Kotananduru Mandal
10. Katravulapalli, Jaggampeta Mandal
11. Kondamodalu, Devipatnam Mandal
One teacher is kept Academic incharge for Monitoring and mainstreaming the children.
A Pre test was conducted in RBCs for the identification of levels of competencies among children. The Post test has to be conducted at exit level.
Fixing of school and hostel where the child has to be mainstreamed and to take necessary action for reviewing administration - (List Enclosed.)
The training programmes to RBC Instructors have been conducted in following schedule.
4.8.04 to 7.8.04, PMRC, Rampachodavaram
23.8.04 to 26.8.04 at Uppada, U.Kothapalli Mandal
In training programmes the focus has given on TLM preparation methods of teaching and Joyful learning
The MRPs and RBCs Incharges are maintaining the rapport with HMs of the schools where the children are mainstreamed.
NCLP centres also monitoring by MEO, MRP and SSA Sectorial staff. Training has given to the NCLP volunteers. They are following the SSA modules and monitoring formats.
Orders issued to all the MEOs to utilize the schools buildings.
